Saturday, October 31, is the busiest night of the Halloween weekend in Asbury Park, with tribute shows, masquerades and costume contests running from the boardwalk to Main Street.

At The Stone Pony, 913 Ocean Avenue, Splintered Sunlight plays A Grateful Halloween, a Grateful Dead tribute with a costume contest at set break. The show starts at 7:00 PM, with the Sandy Mack Band opening at 7:45 PM. The Chamber of Commerce lists tickets at $20.

Asbury Lanes at 209 Fourth Avenue hosts The Cosmic Horror Music Show with the Cosmic Jerry Band, two sets of music and a costume contest. Doors open at 7:00 PM and the show starts at 8:00 PM. The venue lists it as all ages, with tickets through AXS.

On the boardwalk, Lili Oceanfront Restaurant holds its first Halloween by the Sea from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with costume prizes and Mediterranean food. Watermark, co-hosting with the Chamber, holds its second annual Masquerade Party from 9:00 PM to 11:30 PM with no cover. It is a mask party, not a costume party: guests should wear masks they can remove easily for ID checks, and full-face masks, heavy makeup or body costumes may be turned away. Palmetto at 1000 Ocean Avenue throws Dead Frequency, a free dance party with two DJs, from 9:00 PM until late.

Away from the water, Paradise at 101 Asbury Avenue holds its 27th annual Hell in Paradise ball from 9:00 PM, with two DJ rooms and $3,000 in costume prizes for a $20 cover. Harry's Bar inside The St. Laurent, 408 Seventh Avenue, hosts its annual Halloween Bash from 8:00 PM with DJ Chris Spirito and a costume contest whose prizes include a night at the hotel. AP Rooftop at 1200 Ocean Avenue has a costume competition starting at 9:00 PM.

For a later night, ANTISOCIAL at Asbury Social, 527 Lake Avenue, runs a Halloween masquerade from 10:00 PM with a $1,000 costume contest. Admission is $14.51 and limited to guests 25 and older.
