I finally made it to RBar after finding out about it from Instagram. Me and my daughter went for brunch on Sunday and it was amazing. From the host to our waiter and the other waiters that also checked on on us were wonderful. We went as soon as it open so we had the outside to ourselves. If you haven't been or had it on your list...go you wont be disappointed. We tried the crab beignets, they were nice light. Not the beignets in Nola but still delicious. For brunch we tried the Red Neck eggs supreme and steak and eggs, also very delicious. For the drinks we tried the slushy and the pb&j also so tasty. I can't wait to go back for the dinner and the live band.
From the host to our server and bartender named Joe the vibes were nice. We arrived pretty late, 8:30ish on a weeknight and were able to sit upstairs on the patio. The fried chicken and desserts beignets were highlights for the meal! We didn’t stay long too not keep the staff but there was live music downstairs when we arrived!
It’s always a vibe here! Giving Nola vibes it is some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had in my entire life, complete with mashed potatoes all the fixings. Cacio e Pepe deviled eggs, wings just get it all
We went to R Bar to have lunch and attend the Light of Day benefit that was recently held there. What a great place! The food, the atmosphere and the service-all top notch (and even more impressive, the place was packed but the food and service were still A+). We decided to try some dishes to share. The blue crab beignets-OMG! So light, flavorful and definitely something I will order every time we visit. Their gumbo was awesome and skirt steak street tacos were phenomenal! We also had their broiled oysters-also delicious! We will be back!
We’ve enjoyed R Bar a few times, the food and service are good, the atmosphere is great. With several seating choices (bar, dining room, rooftop and backyard) we opt for seating outside. It gets pretty loud inside, and it’s difficult to hold a conversation. The backyard is very pleasant. We found the food a bit bland tonight, which was surprising. The gumbo, a huge plate, was mostly a liquid soup and the burger needed seasoning. The fries were perfect, as were the beignets for dessert. It’s pricey, but worth a visit
